With over 23 years of experience as a CEO, Dermot has worked across Europe, China, the US, and the Pacific region. His expertise spans human development, environmentalism, social justice, philanthropy, public funding, private equity, and innovation.
Dermot’s practical experience in new technology – blockchain, AI and NFTs – has helped shape WWF global thinking on the role science and technology can play in delivering regenerative solutions at speed and scale.
A respected thought leader, Dermot is a Fulbright Scholar at Stanford University and has studied at IMD in Lausanne, the London School of Economics, and Cambridge University. He is passionate about fostering leadership that transforms global challenges into opportunities for co-creating a better future for humanity and the planet.
As a co-founder of several social ventures, Dermot continues to make a significant impact through his roles as Chairperson of OpenSC, a global trace-and-verify platform, and WWF’s impact investing platform, Panda Impact.
Dermot serves as a non-executive director and advisor on various purpose-driven boards. He is also a founding member of the COP31 Collaboration Group, advocating for a society-wide approach to an Australian Pacific-hosted COP31.
