CHOOSE NATURE
Call on your MP to protect nature.
May 2025 update: Australians elected leaders who champion a clean energy future and the protection of our wildlife and wild places.
Together we locked in policy commitments from leaders to protect threatened species, our oceans and tackle climate change.
With your help we’ll be working hard to make sure the new incoming government delivers on its promises and raises its ambition for nature and climate.
Now is our chance to turn promises into action, and your voice is so important.
Nature is the foundation of our lives—our health, economy and future depend on it, yet it is under threat like never before.
Nature is being destroyed faster than it can replenish itself and our wildlife, oceans and ecosystems are now at breaking point, with over 2,000 Aussie species at risk of extinction.
Join us as we call on the new government to deliver on: 1. Funding for nature
2. Stronger nature laws 3. Ocean protection 4. A nature-positive economy
5. Renewable energy
Send an email to your MP and call on the new government to protect and regenerate nature. Together, we can create a future where our wildlife, forests, and oceans are protected for generations to come.

Our Key Policy Asks
Choose Nature: what we’re asking our leaders to doInvest 1% of the budget into nature
Australia spends less than 0.1% of its budget protecting our unique and fragile natural environment. This is far below what’s needed to halt and reverse nature loss.
Fix nature laws to stop deforestation and habitat destruction
Australia’s nature laws are failing to protect our wildlife and critical reforms have stalled in parliament. This means precious species like the greater glider and koala continue to be at risk of extinction.
Protect our oceans and marine life
Our oceans are in peril. WWF-Australia is calling for strong measures to safeguard marine habitats and create safe pathways for wildlife. A healthy ocean supports people, nature, and the planet, and it's time for Australia to play a leadership role in ocean conservation.
Build an economy that protects nature
Australia’s economic systems are driving the destruction of nature. Achieving a nature-positive economy is not an option but a necessity. The next Australian Government must address the economic drivers of nature loss and reform the economic rules of the game.
Replace fossil fuels with renewables
Climate change is moving faster than we are, with dangerous consequences for nature and people. 2024 was the hottest year on record—we need to take urgent action. WWF-Australia is urging the government to stop approving new coal, oil, and gas projects and rapidly shift to renewable energy.
