Indigenous Knowledge and land management will help Regenerate Nature.

Indigenous Knowledge and traditional Aboriginal land management practices are vital for our mission to Regenerate Australia. Welcome to the Caring on Country Hub, a new Hub where you can learn more about WWF-Australia supported Indigenous conservation on Country.

A new report lists Indigenous-led work on Country as one of the “5 big ideas” to tackle climate change in Australia while benefiting communities, our economy and our natural and cultural heritage. Sacred natural places, culturally significant species, all need this nurture and protection.

It will take decades of effort and collaboration to heal Country after the devastating 2019-20 Australian bushfires. Australia is the ‘lucky country’, where First Peoples practice and pass down centuries of expertise in caring for Country. Australian nature needs this knowledge.

Discover more about how Traditional Knowledge and land management is key to recovering the landscapes and animal populations that were lost, as well as building resilience.

Country is healing all over Australia. WWF-Australia is proud to support passionate Traditional Owners, Indigenous rangers, Traditional land management practitioners and their communities making it happen.
